One of my best career lessons, a mindset that has helped me grow in my career, is to accept challenges at work, it’s motivating and gives you an opportunity to prove your ability. Also, collaborate with other teams to get to know them and what work they are doing and be patient, curious and show interest in learning new things.

How long have you been with the company?
Four and a half years.

How has your career grown since starting at Radial?
Radial has given me great exposure and many opportunities for technical advancement, while helping me continue to learn about the business and eCommerce technology. I started as a junior developer without experience in eCommerce and am now considered a subject matter expert in eCommerce, integration and migration.

I have had an opportunity to interact with different business teams as part of my day-to-day work, which has helped me understand our omnichannel solutions and what we can offer to clients. Through this exposure, I’ve been able to successfully develop applications based on unique client requirements.

Are there any notable mentors or peers you feel have contributed to your growth/ success?
My team has been very helpful in helping me form a deeper understanding of eCommerce technology. Technically and business-wise, my team has been integral in my growth at Radial.

In particular, Michael Jessup and Zhongxin Ma have helped me grow both as a developer and a business executive. Additionally, Scott Adams, Gaurav Patil and my manager, Vaishal Sheth, who gave me opportunities to work on major applications. He always believed in my work, allowed me to interact with different teams/ third party providers and had confidence that I was able to deliver. He has guided me throughout my time at Radial and is why I am where I am today.

What does your day-to-day look like? What are the main responsibilities of your role?
My main responsibilities include developing applications, programming and creating a great end-user experience for our client’s customers. The specific application I work on is Radial’s Payments, Tax and Fraud application and our goal is to make sure that we provide an end-to-end, zero-error processing solution. We work with clients on a regular basis to ensure that their data is secure and that the solution is working properly without any latency.

We also integrate with different third-party companies to offer the best possible payment options for our clients, so we work closely with them to understand different features and make enhancements to our payment solution based on client needs. Adding new features requires both creative and logical thinking to ensure the new solution is seamless and won’t cause any disruptions for current clients. If there is any issue, we troubleshoot and provide a solution as quickly as possible.

Lastly, my team works with other Radial teams, such as the DevOps team, to confirm our application is running smoothly.

What motivates you to wake up and go to work?
As I mentioned, my job requires creative thinking and innovation in terms of designing different applications. Every day my team comes together to think of something new – then program/ develop it – and see how each part comes together. This process makes me really excited and motivated.

What is your favorite part of your job/ what do you like most about working at Radial?
I feel lucky to be part of my team – I really enjoy working with them and value their feedback.

The application that I work on is being used by many people and when I see successful orders being placed it makes me very happy. In this way, developing the applications is my favorite part.

Where do you see yourself within Radial in the next few years/ what are your goals?
I would like to be a senior developer at Radial in the next three years. This will not only grow my career but help grow the business overall.

What is your favorite non-work specific thing about your job? (i.e., breakroom games, onsite activities, awards, colleagues, etc.)
Before the pandemic, we would have a pumpkin-carving party where every team got their own pumpkin to carve or paint it. Although my team never won the top prize, the event was really fun and a refreshing way to spend time with colleagues.

We also had team lunches and picnics where we would play games to build our team comradery. I’m looking forward to continuing these after the pandemic.

What is one word you would use to describe working at Radial?
Content. I’m really satisfied with the work that I do at Radial.

What is the best career lesson you have learned so far?
One of my best career lessons is to accept challenges at work. It’s motivating and gives you an opportunity to prove your ability. This mindset has helped me grow in my career.

Also, collaborate with other teams to get to know them and what work they are doing. Lastly, be patient, curious and show interest in learning new things.

What is a fun fact that most people don’t know about you?
Most people wouldn’t know that I’m a trained Indian classical dancer.

What do you like to do in your free time?
I’m a mom of a two-year-old daughter so most of my free time is spent playing with her and watching her grow.

What is one thing you can’t live without?
It sounds crazy but I love spicy food and would never be able to give it up!
